So, What Is This Campaign?
This hashtag came about on an episode of Jamie and Jimmy's Friday Night Feast with guests Ally and Ivan.
If you haven't seen Channel 4's episode of Jamie and Jimmy's Friday Night Feast, series 6, episode 4. Give it a whirl on https://www.channel4.com/programmes/jamie-and-jimmys-friday-night-feast/on-demand/68197-004 (only available for a certain amount of days.)
I totally agree with this topic and having met Ally and Ivan at a previous event, it was so insightful to see their true passion for this campaign. The aim is to encourage the GMC (General Medical Council - aka THE BIG BOYS) to make some real changes to the curriculum -
Currently, medical students across UK are getting as little as 3 hours of taught nutrition during their 5/6 year course.
I first heard about Nutritank in an article from the BBC in March 2018.

It was so mind boggling to look at the fact that future doctors are not getting taught enough information on Nutrition during their degree course. The reason why I'm so passionate about this topic is not just because I'm an avid foodie but I truly believe in the saying
'You are what you eat'
Filling ourselves with junk food will cause a major affect to our bodies in the long term, but I don't need to tell you this. Before, I even considered becoming a doctor, I've always had an interest in the affect food can have to our bodies - knowing what is good and what is 'bad'* for us. I wanted to become a Dietitian and still do in way... I hope to complete a dietetics course after or even before my Medical degree. Let's just see where fate takes me...
*I say the word bad, but I generally try to avoid the term, 'certain foods are bad for us', because all foods contain some kind of nutritional information, if they are good or bad depends on amount of that food consumed, ext.
MODERATION is KEY PEOPLE
Anyway, moving on... I mentioned I met Ally and Ivan! Lovely people! I met them at a conference in London, ran by College of Medicine, held at UCL.

I would definitely recommend attending things like this - because I will never forget the feeling of surrounding myself with such like minded people. I was the youngest there but connected with so many people. I was able to practice my networking skills and I made some great connections from it. I also got a lot of freebees!

I'm going to link Nutritank's Instragram here. Have a browse at their campaign and their website, because ultimately, we need to train our future medics for better safety and care for our patients.
Good luck my friends,
You've got this.
